Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo Reveals Renovated Rooms and a New Guerlain Spa

Interior architect Jacques Garcia designed the elegant, contemporary suites.

The revitalised Monaco institution is poised to reaffirm its status as one of the Principality’s foremost hospitality landmarks.

Amid the constellation of five-star hotels in Monaco, one address continues to distinguish itself. Situated just moments from Casino Square, Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo has long held a central place in the Principality’s luxury hospitality landscape. Renowned for its tree-lined entrance and fine dining, the hotel has remained largely unchanged since its grand opening in 2004. This summer, however, marks the beginning of a new era.

Following its first major renovation in two decades, the Carré d’Or property will unveil an array of enhancements, including reimagined rooms and an all-new spa. Forty-five new rooms, located on the second and third floors, will be available from August. Designed by celebrated French interior architect Jacques Garcia, these elegant rooms reflect a contemporary approach to luxury. Flooded with natural light and characterised by clean lines and refined materials, the spaces exude Garcia’s signature warmth and quiet opulence.

A key highlight of the renovation is the introduction of The Spa Métropole by Guerlain, opening in July. Conceived in collaboration with the storied French beauty house and designed by Samy Itani of the Itani & Courtois agency, the spa is positioned as a haven of tranquillity. Alongside Guerlain’s renowned treatments, including the Black Orchid ritual, three bespoke experiences will be offered exclusively at the hotel: Monaco Glow, Puissance du Rocher and Golden Sand. The spa will feature 10 treatment rooms, a sauna, hammam, fitness studio and a dedicated Bastien Gonzalez space for hand and foot therapies.

Dining will also take centre stage. From now until October 1st, guests can savour relaxed Italian fare at Odyssey—the restaurant envisioned by Karl Lagerfeld—courtesy of ZIA, the poolside eatery from chefs Manon Santini and Rocco Seminara. For the first time, the venue will open to nonresidents for breakfast and lunch, with aperitivo and dinner service resuming from May 28th. Meanwhile, Les Ambassadeurs by Christophe Cussac returns for its second season, following the success of its debut year in which it earned two Michelin stars. The restaurant is celebrated for its refined Mediterranean cuisine, extensive cellar of 15,000 wines, and trolleys offering freshly baked breads and sweet treats.

With its refreshed interiors, renewed focus on wellness and exceptional culinary experiences, Hôtel Métropole Monte-Carlo reaffirms its place as a cornerstone of Riviera sophistication.
