Morgan Plus Six
Few carmakers can match up to Morgan’s oldworld charm and character—the British-made Plus Six is a mighty fine example of that. Despite the styling looking straight out of the 1930s, this vehicle only debuted in 2019, taking over from the discontinued Plus Eight.
The Plus Six went on to receive an update in 2022 and packs a 3.0-litre turbocharged straight-six engine, which is more frequently found in the BMW Z4 and Toyota Supra. That unit drives the rear wheels exclusively through an eight-speed automatic gearbox and produces 246 kW, enabling the Plus Six to hit 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 267 km/h.
Our panel of judges loved the lightweight feel of the plucky Morgan, which weighs in at just 1,075 kg—more than 400 kg less than the Z4 and Supra that share its engine. The result is a peppy and boisterous package that’s capped off with alluring looks and a convertible roof for feelgood, top-down driving. All agreed that the Plus Six is a deeply appealing car that deserves credit for its ability to stand out from the crowd and offer up a hugely enjoyable driving experience.
