The Monte-Carlo Summer Festival Returns to Monaco in July

The star-studded annual affair returns with a new addition to the musical mix.

There’s something about the sun that magically brings music to life, stirring the soul. Perhaps that’s why locals and Riviera visitors alike can’t resist the melodic lure of the Monte-Carlo Summer Festival in the warmer months. Organised by Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer under the direction of Alfonso Ciulla, this year the festival continues to attract major international artists to the iconic Salle des Étoiles. And, excitingly, the 2025 event introduces a new sound to the mix: electronic music.

Carrying the torch towards an even more varied line-up is German artist Paul Kalkbrenner, who will take to the stage on July 24th for a high-energy dance-music night that bridges the Salle des Étoiles with the atmosphere of its legendary neighbour, Jimmy’z Monte-Carlo.

The festival as a whole kicks off on July 5th with a tribute to Jean-Jacques Goldman by the Goldmen, in support of Fight AIDS Monaco. Next up is Billy Idol (12th) unleashing his unmistakable punk-rock edge at the Monaco Red Cross Gala. American singer-songwriter Benson Boone, still glowing no doubt from a recent Grammy nomination, will perform on the 16th, while Carlos Santana returns as part of his world tour (23rd), delivering a signature blend of Latin rock and blues.

Following Kalkbrenner’s debut electronic set, the festival welcomes The Dire Straits Experience on the 25th—featuring the band’s original saxophonist Chris White, no less. The following day, the Scorpions hit with their enduring hard-rock attitude. The month of August begins with some genuine superstar appeal in the shape of Will Smith (2nd), who promises a performance that combines his film-star charisma and original rap roots. Kool & The Gang weave their funk groove (13th) before Italian singer Giorgia closes the season on the 15th with her powerful voice and refined style. Adding depth to the line-up, the Motown All-Stars will appear across 10 dates, celebrating the golden era of soul music.

With its eclectic mix of genres, it’s safe to say the festival satisfies every taste. Summer wouldn’t be the same without it.
