Car of the Year 2025: McLaren 750S

McLaren 750S

The final verdict is in! Blistering speed, astounding beauty, supreme comfort, state-of-the-art tech, undiluted enjoyment—these are the automobiles that wowed our esteemed panel of experts.

McLaren 750S

While our panel struggled to identify too many visual differences between the “new” McLaren 750S and the previous 720S, don’t be fooled by the minimal styling updates—there’s a lot of little changes going on under the skin of the new McLaren, so allow us to explain.

For starters, power from the twin-turbo V8 engine is up from 529 kW to 552 kW, meaning the 750S will touch 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds and go on to a supercarworthy top speed of 332 km/h. While maximum velocity is very slightly reduced from the previous model, our judges were bowled over by the subtle engineering tweaks—such as more downforce and a shorter final drive ratio—which make the 750S even more of a drivers’ car.

But it’s not all about the drive—not least according to our testers—who praised the more practical changes, such as an improved infotainment system and better fit and finish, ensuring the McLaren is easier to live with on a day-to-day basis.
