The new opening this spring will make Casino de Monte-Carlo even more of a draw.
“Tobacco,” Victor Hugo famously once said, “is the plant that converts thoughts into dreams.” It’s likely, then, that the 19th-century Paris-born author, poet, essayist and playwright would have been even more prolific had he visited the ultra-private Monte-Carlo Cigar Club at Casino de Monte-Carlo—a collaboration between the Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer group and premium cigar, spirits and luxury accessories company Dominique London, set to open this spring.
The former office of Société des Bains de Mer founder François Blanc, a 200 m² space within the heart of Casino de Monte-Carlo, will provide the setting for a cigar aficionado’s nirvana, containing a curated collection of 35,000 long fillers (cigars made with whole leaves) from Cuba, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Honduras, Peru and elsewhere.

Illustrious interior architecture agency Moinard Bétaille has devised the main interior of an establishment which includes a smoking room, a bar (naturally) and an incredible outdoor setting in the form of a terrace overlooking Hôtel de Paris Monte- Carlo and the Mediterranean Sea. The walk-in humidor, meanwhile, has been conceived by global specialist DeART.
Consider this club—along with the opening of new restaurant Marlow— the latest chapter in Monte-Carlo Société des Bains de Mer’s ongoing quest to take the concept of art de vivre to lofty new heights.
