CHARTER YACHT: KISMET
They say the third time’s the charm, and that certainly seems to be the case for Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shahid Khan. At 122 m, Kismet is the latest and largest yacht of the same name that Khan has commissioned—it’s also the most impressive of the trio. The good news is that, despite only being in her maiden season, the Lürssen-built yacht is available to charter—through Cecil Wright from €3 million per week.
So, what does this handsome price get you? A boatload of flash features, it transpires, including a helipad that converts into a basketball court, a “Nemo Lounge” with windows to the deep blue, a spa with a cryotherapy chamber and a full-beam duplex owner’s suite with a fireplace and a skylight over the master bed. There’s also a host of high-tech gadgets such as video walls and a light-up dance floor. Despite these flamboyant amenities, interiors—penned by the experts at Reymond Langton Design—are tasteful and accessible to all. And you don’t need to be a Jaguars fan to charter her—although it certainly helps.
REBUILD: H3
H3 wins best rebuild © Oceanco
When she emerged from a three-year stint in the Oceanco shipyard, H3 was virtually unrecognisable. Undergoing far more than a refit, the superyacht was rebuilt with a modernised sleek profile, new exterior spaces and a fresh interior featuring neutral styling by acclaimed studio Reymond Langton Design. Her hull was lengthened by 10 m, bringing her to 105 m; this enhanced space is filled with a new outdoor swimming pool and a beach club that connects with the spa. Highlight features inside include a staircase that wraps around a waterfall, a high-tech video wall, and a reimagined owner’s deck with a climate-controlled winter garden, convertible cinema and private dining room.
CATAMARAN: THIS IS IT
Not since the launch of 80 m superyacht Artefact have we seen such a bold use of glass —and never on a catamaran. This 43.5 m multihull from Tecnomar and The Italian Sea Group may divide opinion, but nobody can deny it’s a head-turner. One of the most radical yacht launches in modern history, This Is It features more than 600 m² of glass, mostly made up of full-height windows and strategically placed skylights. The curvaceously asymmetrical interior is styled to shock and delight—look closely to spot references to sea creatures.
Among the standout spaces on board are a stylish bar, a contemporary spa and a villa-style owner’s suite with a large private balcony overlooking the stern. And you won’t lose her on the water in the dark either as come nightfall, her curved superstructure arch is lit up with neon lights
INNOVATION: PROJECT 821
The world’s first hydrogen fuel cell-powered superyacht was five years—and countless dreams—in the making. Project 821, built for Bill Gates by Feadship, is the pinnacle of modern technological advancement. The launch follows years of research by Feadship’s R&D team which has been busy researching hydrogen alongside fossil-fuel-free alternatives.
As the first living example of a superyacht powered by pure green hydrogen fuel cells, it’s a pioneering demonstration of the potential of the energy source. And, at 119 m, the RWD-designed yacht is also the largest motor yacht ever launched in the Netherlands. But Feadship’s mission goes beyond one yacht, says Feadship director Jan-Bart Verkuyl: “The aim has been to develop a new, clean technology not just for this project, but for the world.”
ECO YACHT: SUNREEF 100 ECO
In the burgeoning world of luxury eco-friendly catamarans, this model stands out on the water for more reasons than one. The Sunreef 100 Eco is distinguished by its unique use of solar panels, which are laminated into every possible surface—the hull, the superstructure and even the mast and boom. The panels power batteries that, when assisted by electric motors, offer silent sailing and potentially limitless emission-free range.
The 29 m multihull is also outfitted with hydro generators that build green energy while sailing. Owners can enjoy comfortable living spaces including a full-beam master suite and choose from a variety of customisable features such as a hot tub, gym and outdoor cinema. For sailors looking to explore the seas while leaving nothing in their wake except waves, the Sunreef 100 Eco is an excellent place to start.
SPORT YACHT: MANGUSTA 165 REV
The sporty profile of this striking motor yacht continues to turn heads two years on from the line’s inaugural launch. The 50 m production yacht has already proven itself on the waves, meeting Mangusta’s promises of enhanced performance and reduced consumption, but there’s plenty to impress beyond the engine room. On the deck, there are spacious areas for relaxation and socialising, including a beach club that touches the waves, a large sun terrace and an infinity pool on the bow. The voluminous interior, afforded by the slightly curved superstructure, can be completely customised to an owner’s tastes and requirements.
SUPERYACHT: MALIA
At 78 m, this was the largest superyacht launched in Greece in 2023—and one of the most attractive. Built by Golden Yachts and designed by some of Italy’s most acclaimed designers, Malia features sleek exterior lines and elegant, contemporary interior styling by Studio Vafiadis and Massari Design. Every surface has been carefully considered and Massari has integrated more than 250 finishes throughout, including rich materials and precious stones. The studio also collaborated with artisans to craft standout pieces such as textured-wood ceilings that curve like waves and metal-glass chandeliers. Highlight spaces include a glass-bottom swimming pool that filters sunlight into the beach club below, a full-beam master with a private office area and walk-in wardrobe, and a wellness and fitness area with a spa, hammam, sauna and gym.
SAILING YACHT: NILAYA
When the worlds of marine and aerospace engineering collide, magic is made. When Royal Huisman set out to build its first “featherlight” racing yacht in lightweight aluminium, it took inspiration from the European Space Agency. When designing the structure, the Dutch shipyard’s engineers used a computer-modelling tool based on technology from the agency to reduce weight and noise pollution without sacrificing performance. The result is Nilaya, a fast, stylish superyacht for both racing and cruising. On the deck, guests can find three relaxation areas and a beach club, while below deck there’s a saloon for dining and socialising, a full-beam master suite, three guest cabins and a media room.
DAY CRUISER: VANDUTCH 75
The new flagship of VanDutch, this 22 m motor yacht signals a new era following the brand’s acquisition by Cantiere del Pardo. Designed by Italian firm BurdissoCapponi Yachts&Design, the VanDutch 75 is contemporary with a Mediterranean edge; the black lacquered finish that’s synonymous with VanDutch is juxtaposed with lighter, softer materials including suede upholstery and fabric ceiling covers. An open-plan layout encourages socialising; spaces include a comfortable lounge and a beach club area with a large sun pad that’s ideal for relaxing while cruising along the coastline. Below deck, the interior is stylish and spacious with a lounge, a kitchen for preparing refreshments and the option for two or three cabins. All in all, it’s a dream day cruiser.
WEEKENDER: EXTRA X90 FAST
With a top speed of 30 knots, the Extra X90 Fast does exactly what it says on the tin. Speedy, sporty and seriously stylish, the 27 m motor yacht is perfect for a weekend on the waves—or indeed longer. Designed by Hot Lab, she’s generously spacious for her size and features large living areas on the bow and stern, the highlight of which is a 50 m² beach club. The interior, meanwhile, comprises a full-beam owner’s suite and three guest rooms sleeping up to eight. With a strong personality and top performance to boot, the Extra X90 Fast is set to make waves when her first sold unit launches in 2025.
