Editor’s Letter: Introducing the Best of the Best 2025

Karl-Henry Edström gives a preview of this anticipated annual edition.

Each time we produce our annual Best of The Best edition, I find myself marvelling at how fast the wheels of luxury—in some cases literally—turn. Whether it’s mind-boggling technical fabrics, physics-defying new engine technology or feats of micro-engineering pushing watchmaking into new territory, so much of what we write about would have been inconceivable as recently as a decade ago.

Robb Report’s Best of the Best issue is a celebration of the exceptional engineers, aesthetes, artisans and other innovators—people who reside at the pinnacle of human achievement—who make tomorrow’s reality so different to yesterday’s. But without those who consume the sybaritic joys we recommend on these pages, there would be no impetus for exceptional individuals to keep on elevating ingenuity to loftier summits than ever before.

Our audience are luxury’s life blood, and it is incumbent on me to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude, here at Robb Report Monaco & Côte d’Azur, to you for being a crucial part of our journey. Special thanks also goes out to UBS—the Zurich-based global financial services firm, and one of the world’s largest and most prestigious wealth management institutions—who are our partner for this very special edition, and a storied institution with whom we share so many core values.

In as much as it’s possible to extend grateful sentiments to a geographical location, my thanks also goes out to the setting our readers consider either a literal or a spiritual home. The Riviera is a nexus for fine living, and a spot in which the most innovative and successful people in the world can enjoy the best the planet has to offer, within an area just over two square kilometres in size.

As you peruse this year’s set of Best of the Best winners—in what is the awards’ 27th year globally— bear in mind their role not just in preserving luxury heritage, but in forging tomorrow’s art de vivre too. And if they are luxury’s powertrain, you—the readers— are the fuel. We, and our esteemed partner UBS, are immensely proud of the part we play in bringing our communities together, and giving human ingenuity the attention and patronage it deserves.

Finally, a call to action: keep on demanding, and celebrating passionately, the very best in life. Doing so keeps the world turning. Enjoy the issue!
