Charles Leclerc Named Monaco’s 2026 Goodwill Ambassador

An elegant evening in Monte Carlo, hosted by the Monaco Ambassadors Club, saw the Monaco Grand Prix winner honoured by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, as leading figures gathered for a night of recognition and charitable giving.

On the evening of 2 April 2026, the gilded salons of the Hôtel de Paris Monte-Carlo set the stage for the Goodwill Ambassador Award Gala, a key date in Monaco’s social calendar. Organised by the Monaco Ambassadors Club under the presidency of Filippo Ghirelli and Christian Moore, with General Secretary Alessandra Sparaco, the event welcomed an international guest list spanning business, diplomacy and culture.

At its centre was the recognition of Monaco-born Formula One driver Charles Leclerc, who was formally named 2026 Goodwill Ambassador by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco. The appointment reflects both his success on the track and his growing role as a representative of the Principality on the global stage.

The evening extended beyond ceremony with a charity auction featuring nine exclusive lots, including a bespoke guitar by Paoletti Guitars and a racing helmet signed by Leclerc. Proceeds were directed towards four organisations: the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, Rondine Cittadella della Pace, Comunità San Patrignano, and the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem Association, reinforcing the event’s philanthropic focus.

The Monaco Young Ambassadors Club was also in attendance, highlighting the Principality’s focus on youth engagement and the development of future leadership. Their presence underscored the Club’s ongoing commitment to maintaining an international perspective while fostering new voices.

Entertainment came courtesy of celebrated pianist Davide Locatelli; acrobatic roller-skating duo Holler & Carmen, known for their work with Cirque du Soleil, represented by Sōma Monaco; and DJ Jack-E, who closed the event with a late-night set.

The gala brought together senior figures, cultural personalities and younger representatives in a format that combined recognition with fundraising, reflecting Monaco’s continued emphasis on visibility, responsibility and international engagement. And with Principality soon returning to the spotlight of Formula One, the evening placed renewed focus on one of its most recognisable ambassadors.
