Combining precision engineering with refined design, the Bathys MG redefines wireless listening for the discerning traveller.
Focal, the celebrated French audio house, has spent four decades perfecting the art of sound reproduction— from the towering Utopia floorstanding loudspeakers gracing the finest listening rooms in the world, to studio monitors installed in studios from London’s Abbey Road to Capitol Studios, Hollywood.
The brand’s sculptural elegance and acoustic clarity have been brought to bear on the new Bathys MG wireless headphones (€1,199). At their heart lies the 40mm magnesium speaker drivers, whose frequency response stretches from 10Hz to 22kHz, with a harmonic distortion rate below 0.2 per cent. Eight onboard microphones manage active noise cancellation, offering three separate modes.

The aesthetics dazzle too: an aluminium and magnesium yoke combines with a genuine leather headband and ergonomic memoryfoam earpads, all finished in a warm chestnut tone with a backlit Focal logo. Bluetooth 5.2 with aptX Adaptive ensures wireless performance of the highest order, while USB-DAC mode unlocks high-resolution audio at up to 24-bit/192kHz. The Focal & Naim application, meanwhile, offers personalised EQ settings and a bespoke hearing profile.
In all, they’re elegant, enduring and engineered with the same obsessive precision as the very finest loudspeakers. Wherever the itinerary leads, the music follows: with all background noise eliminated.
