The Neighbour: Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez Reopens Just as the Riviera’s Spotlight Turns West

Hôtel de Paris - Saint Tropez

As the hotel prepares to reopen for the season, this legendary address promises a chic, sun-soaked weekend escape—rich in history, culture and Riviera glamour—and all just a short drive from home.

With devoted setjetters currently setting their sights on Saint-Tropez—Season Four of The White Lotus is filming there this summer—Hôtel de Paris reopening in arguably the world’s glitziest locale is perhaps even bigger news than it might otherwise have been. And, for locals, the news promises a close-to-home weekend escape that feels a world apart: think easy glamour, and a slower pace of life.

Standing at the entrance to the coastal village, the hotel has anchored Saint-Tropez since 1931. It was the town’s first luxury hotel and quickly became a gathering place for artists, writers and film stars, from Brigitte Bardot to Colette. Today, following a sensitive renovation, it remains a five-star landmark with 90 rooms and suites that blend contemporary comfort with subtle nods to the 1960s and Tropezian life—thanks to interiors by Sybille de Margerie.

For a weekend escape, location is everything—and here, everything is walkable. Guests step straight into the village’s winding lanes, the Place des Lices and the harbour cafés. Rooms range from intimate hideaways overlooking leafy patios to standout suites such as the expansive Suite Dolce Vita, complete with a panoramic terrace and jacuzzi overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez.

One of the hotel’s greatest draws is its rooftop, Les Toits—the first of its kind in Saint-Tropez and still the only one with an open-air heated pool. From April, it resumes its role as a social hub, pairing Provençalinspired cuisine with sweeping views over terracotta rooftops and the Mediterranean. Evenings come alive with jazz and DJ sets, while Sundays are for brunch, set to the sound of live piano.

Wellness seekers will appreciate the Spa by Clarins, a serene retreat offering signature treatments exclusive to the hotel, alongside a hammam, sauna and fitness facilities. Culture, too, plays a central role, with rotating artworks, literary evenings and collaborations with local artisans woven into the guest experience.

Just 90 minutes by car from Monaco, Hôtel de Paris Saint-Tropez is close enough for a spontaneous escape, yet different enough to feel like a true change of pace—a Riviera classic, reawakened each spring.
