The Chinese zodiac release combines finely aged tobacco with a distinctive artistic vision.
With the Year of the Horse Limited Edition 2026, Davidoff once again elevates the ancient Chinese zodiac into an exercise in high craft. Symbolism abounds, naturally, but this year’s release is also noteworthy on a technical level. For the first time, the blend is crafted exclusively from proprietary hybrid seeds and represents a combined tobacco age of 43 years, an age profile that is only possible thanks to patience, planning and precision.

Hand-rolled in the Dominican Republic and available in an exclusive toro especial format, the cigar benefits from an intricate selection of 100 percent Dominican tobaccos. An Ecuadorian-grown wrapper and binder are arranged around a filler composed of three vintage leaves that impart depth, texture and composure. Creamy notes, chocolate and roasted hazelnuts take shape on the palate and build gradually, creating a balanced flavour profile in which the Davidoff signature is unmistakable. Assured and fluid, it echoes the horse’s natural elegance and forward momentum.

Crowning the release is the Year of the Horse Masterpiece Humidor, of which only 25 are made worldwide. Collaboratively designed by Chinese artist Chengyu Wang and French straw-marquetry expert Agnès Paul- Depasse, this one-of-a-kind piece is an ode to fine tobacco and elevated functional art. It contains 88 gran toro cigars that have been rolled exclusively for this edition, whilst the addition of a personalisation plate allows each piece to be individually customised, making it a statement of Davidoff’s ability to bring together creativity, heritage and technical mastery
